Who are your services designed for?
We work primarily with incorporated small businesses and self-employed professionals in Ontario, most with revenues between CAD 80,000 and CAD 1,500,000. Our advisory service is particularly suited to owners approaching growth, ownership transitions, or retirement planning.
Do I need to come to your Ottawa office?
Not at all. Most of our client relationships are conducted entirely by video call and secure document sharing. If you prefer to meet in person at our Sparks Street office in Ottawa, that is also available. The choice is yours.
How does the document collection process work?
We send you a structured checklist specific to your situation — you upload documents to our secure client portal, and we handle the rest. We aim to make this as straightforward as possible. If anything is unclear or missing, we reach out directly rather than leaving you to guess.
What if I'm switching from another accountant mid-year?
This is something we handle regularly. We request the relevant records from your prior accountant, review what has been filed, and get your books in order before taking on any new work. There is no bad time to establish a more attentive relationship with your accounting.
How quickly can I expect a response to my questions?
For advisory clients, email access is included as part of the engagement — we typically respond within one business day. For payroll and tax clients, we respond within two business days and reach out proactively whenever something requires your attention.
Is there a minimum commitment period?
Payroll is billed monthly and can be discontinued with 30 days' notice. Year-end tax preparation is a single engagement per filing season. The advisory service is structured annually and works best as an ongoing relationship — we discuss the commitment openly before you decide.
